Here's a demo that was recorded at 2am. I had an idea wrote out a few lyrics, recorded it and played it at Open Mic. I think there should be more to it but I also like its brisk, fleeting message which really reflects how it was written, a quick thought that was captured and recorded. Let me know what you think. Don't mind the stops and mistakes I'll re-record it some time. What you're listening to is my very first go at it. I must've tried 4 or 5 times after that but decided it was best take, the woes of recording.
Lyrics:
The discrepencies of history have been molded into fact.
Why run when you can change the road and make it your own path?
To build with sand and contraband, the feats no one will know
But that nagging bit of conscience left that proves you still have a soul.
And I can bet you one thing. I youd be surprised
But the deepest darkest secrets are never hidden inside.
Theyre shown in a smile a nod, a nervous laugh, the evil is plain to see.
Which makes me wonder why youre not bothered with the evil inside of me.
And it makes me want to fly away.
And it makes me want to fly away.
The banality, the futility the struggle of it all,
Well whats the point of struggling when you know you will just fall.
You labor and you toil just so you can have some fun.
It's these open wounds that make this drink taste sweeter with the setting sun.
And it makes me want to fly away.
And it makes me want to fly away.

Green Grass
Here is a Tom Waits cover that we rearranged a bit but thought it came out pretty well. Have a listen and tell us what you think.
Green Grass
Green Grass
Introductions, introductions, introductions.
We are Wind & Waves. We both were musically dormant for a good amount of time but found a spark of inspiration in a local coffee shop and it's monthly Open Mic Night event. Starting with a violin and guitar we jammed our way to fruition and now play frequently for our friends and our town's street corners whenever time and spontaneity allow. We've added a banjo, ukulele and djembe to our sound. Most of our repertoire consists of covers and a few original compositions. Our influences include the Avett Brothers, Beirut, Eisley, Mumford & Sons, Against Me!, Bright Eyes, Tom Waits and much more. We are in the process of writing, recording and getting our own material out. So check back as often as you can for any updates, thanks for reading.
